Healing through art

A Workshop Series for Mental Health & Well-Being

Healing Through Art (HTA) is one of The Awakenings Project’s signature programs, bringing people together to explore creativity as a pathway toward recovery, self-expression, and connection. Led by professional artists, the workshops provide a welcoming environment where participants can experiment with visual art without needing previous artistic experience.

Over the years, HTA has been offered in a variety of community settings and has consistently drawn enthusiastic participation. Recent sessions at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Glen Ellyn were filled, while programs at Wheaton Village Nursing and Rehabilitation have brought creative opportunities to people who might otherwise have limited access to the arts.

At the heart of Healing Through Art is a simple conviction: creativity belongs to everyone. Through artistic expression, participants can discover new possibilities for personal growth, connection, and hope.

There are currently no workshops open for registration. Information about future Healing Through Art programs will be posted here as it becomes available.

“I had a sense of freedom, nonjudgment.” “My artwork was created by a very happy and grateful child, like a soul in its most natural being.”
