Healing through art NEW
A Workshop Series for Mental Health & Well-Being
Discover the transformative power of creativity with "Healing Through Art," an innovative wellness program made possible by a grant from the DuPage County Board. Led by professional art therapist Dianne Samp, MA, LCPC, these intimate four-week workshops guide participants through drawing, watercolor, and other creative techniques while integrating stress reduction, mindfulness, and emotional wellness practices. No prior art experience is necessary—just bring an open mind and a willingness to explore. Each series accommodates 15-17 participants for one afternoon per week in a welcoming, non-clinical environment where DuPage County residents can connect with neighbors while nurturing their well-being. Thanks to DuPage county funding, this professional-quality program is available at the very low price of $20 per class or $60 for the set of four sessions. Materials are included. Join us for an accessible pathway to personal growth through the proven healing power of artistic expression.
The Awakenings Project is a grass-roots initiative in the Chicago suburbs, whose mission is to foster, advance, and support the creative efforts of artists with mental illnesses and/or addictions. In addition, The Awakenings Project works to raise public awareness, acceptance and appreciation of art by people in recovery in all creative endeavors but especially fine arts, music, literature, and drama.
“My life is easily divided into two chapters: before mental illness and after mental illness. Likewise, my recovery is divided into two chapters: before Awakenings and after Awakenings.”
– Robert Lundin, Founder
