Robert Lundin, who has led the Awakenings Project since its inception in 1996. became enamored with photography as a high school student in the 1970s. He bought his first SLR camera, a Pentax SP500, at the age of 16 and thereafter became the photography editor for two of his high school's award-winning yearbooks. Robert also plied his photography skills as a photojournalist in the 1990s at several weekly newspapers including The Glen Ellyn News and The Wheaton Leader. Several of Robert's photographs have won prizes, including first place in The Daily Herald's regional contest, second place in a national contest sponsored by CompuServe Internet network, and first place in The Illinois Press Association's spot photography contest. Several of Robert's photographs have graced the covers of The Awakenings Review. Today he continues to pursue photography as a hobby.
